At the fifth event of the ADAC MX Masters, championship leader Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team) lived up to his role as favourite and scored the maximum number of points in the three races. Tom Koch (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) also took over the second championship position with second place in Gaildorf. Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) was able to celebrate his first event podium.

The leader of the standings, van de Moosdijk, competed confidently on the storied track. As Acerbi's Best Qualifier, he already ensured an optimal starting position for the three ranked races in qualifying. In the first race on Saturday, he took the lead from Red Bull Holeshot winner Ludwig halfway through the race and then managed his lead to the finish. In the second race on Sunday, a similar scenario: this time the starting victory went to Koch. But van de Moosdijk calmly got into his rhythm in the early stages and then struck after the first third of the race. He then controlled his distance to the pursuers and won safely again. In the third race, Ludwig took the lead again after the start. Van de Moosdijk didn't hesitate for long and overtook him on lap five to take full points over the weekend.

"If I want to improve something, then these are my starts, I wasn't completely satisfied with that yet. Noah and Tom rode strong after their holeshots, but I'm happy that I was able to beat them and then continuously build up a gap. I'm already looking forward to the next event in Vellahn, as I've never raced there before," said van de Moosdijk.

Tom Koch was the only driver besides van de Moosdijk to make it into the top three in all three races. After third place behind his teammate Ludwig in the first race, he was able to keep up with the Dutchman for long stretches in both races on Sunday and finished second in each race, making him van de Moosdijk's first pursuer in the championship.

"It was a good weekend with a holeshot and three solid runs. That was my goal, as it has been a bit mixed with consistency at the other events so far. Roan has been strong all year, but I think I've come closer and hope that it will work so well at the remaining two events," Koch said with satisfaction.

Noah Ludwig confirmed the increasing form of the past events in Gaildorf. In all three races, he got off to a good start, sprinting to the Red Bull Holeshot twice, and in the second race he returned from the opening lap in second place. In the first race, only the race winner van de Moosdijk could pass him. In the second race, he had to concede third place to Kevin Brumann (CH/MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing) in the middle of the race and crossed the finish line in fourth place. In the third race, he also had to give way to some competitors with van de Moosdijk, Koch and Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/SHR Motorsports by Hartje). But another fourth place gave him his first podium of the season with a consistent performance, with which he improved to sixth place in the championship.

"This was my best weekend this year and I'm happy to finally be back on the podium. Three good starts, three consistently good races. I lacked a bit of self-confidence at the beginning, because it hadn't gone so well so far. My thanks go to my entire environment, who have worked hard in recent weeks to get me back into the swing of things. I'm now looking forward to the last two events," said a relieved Ludwig.

In the championship, van de Moosdijk now leads Koch by 70 points. Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing) finished fifth in Gaildorf on Sunday after strong fightbacks and thus retained his third place in the championship. Jere Haavisto (FIN/Schmicker Silve Racing) experienced a difficult weekend including a retirement, but still moved up to fourth place in the championship ahead of Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing), who missed the weekend due to injury.
