HRC factory rider, Jeffrey Herlings is the new red plate owner in the MXGP class, as he is now 24 points ahead of Lucas Coenen in the championship, with another moto to go today at Loket, Czech Republic.

The Dutchman is really in great form at the moment, with a solid start in second place and a dominant performance in moto one. With Coenen not starting today due to his injuries, Herlings is now in command of the 2026 MXGP world championship.

Jeffrey Herlings: Really good start and it took me a lap to pass Tom (Vialle) and then I could ride my own pace. Second moto will be difficult, but we go and out do our best and see where we come out.

Championship points are now Jeffrey Herlings 590 points, Lucas Coenen 566pts, Romain Febvre 525pts, Tim Gajser 469pts and Andrea Adamo 400pts. A 24 point lead for "The Bullet" and Febvre just 41 points behind the Belgian teenager.

MXGP Moto One

Vialle led the opening MXGP moto from Herlings, Adamo, Van Doninck, Febvre, Horgmo, Gifting, Renaux, Gajser and Fernandez. De Wolf 11th. Febvre into fourth with a pass on Van Doninck. Seewer into the mechanical area on lap one. Renaux also crashed and hit by de Wolf. Those crashes allowed Pancar and Geerts into the top ten.

Van De Moosdijk, who showed good speed in America for a couple of rounds of the AMA Naionals was back in 15th place. Herlings all over Vialle for the lead and really pushing hard an on lap two he took the lead.

Top ten on lap two was Herlings, Vialle, Adamo, Febvre, Van Doninck, Gajser, de Wolf, Fernandez, Pancar and Geerts. Van De Moosdijk continues his nice speed to move into 11th place. Top four still close as there was just three seconds between them all.

Herlings lead was two seconds on lap five and Vialle, Adamo and Febvre were all in a battle for second, third and fourth, with De Wolf crashing and dropping back to 8th place. Gajser slipped over also and dropped to seventh spot.

Herlings in complete control with a five second lead over Vialle, with Febvre 7.4 behind and Adamo 9.3 back in fourth place. Remaining top ten were Van Doninck, Fernandez, Gajser, de Wolf, Geerts and Pancar.

Herlings continued to get away from everyone with Vialle eight seconds back, and Febvre 10 seconds behind the leader. Febvre into second with a pass on Vialle, but those guys now 13 seconds behind Herlings.

Top ten on lap 14 was Herlings, Febvre, Vialle, Adamo, Fernandez, Gajser, Van Doninck, de Wolf, Geerts, and Gifting 10th. Van De Moosdijk still 11th. Herlings wins the moto from two Frenchman, Febvre and Vialle.
