Red Bull KTM factory rider, Sasha Coenen has won the MX2 qualification race, after following Janis Reisulis for a major part of the race. Coenen slowly cut the lead of the Latvian passing on lap nine. Second was Camden McLellan and third was Farres.

Sasha Coenen: It was a difficult race. The track is sketchy. When I made the move I said head down and I am happy to bounce back from last rounds second moto. You need to be good with lines and stuff, because it is tough and slippery.

Janis Reisulis in the lead in the MX2 qualifier, then Farres, Walvoort, Coenen, Valin, Langenfelder, Everts, McLellan, Lata, Karlis Reisulis in 10th. Coenen up to second place and McLellan into fifth position.

Reisulis with a 1.7 second lead over Coenen, then Farres 3.6 back in third, followed by Walvoort, McLellan, Valin, Langenfelder, Everts, Reisulis and Karssemakers 10th. Lata 11th and Valk 12th. Coenen unable to make ground on the leader and on lap two the lead was 1.9 seconds.

Lap four and still the Latvian led from the Belgian, with the gap 2.8 seconds, third was Farres, 4.5 seconds back, with Mclellan into fourth, then Walvoort, Valin, Langenfelder, Everts, Reisulis and Karssemakers 10th.

Coenen making progress on Reisulis on lap eight with the lead around 1.4 seconds and the Belgian was coming fast. Farres still 2.5 behind and McLellan all over his team-mate for third spot. Coenen took the lead on lap race and quickly got 5 seconds ahead of the Latvian rider.

Farres moved into second with three laps remaining and McLellan also passed the young Latvian as it was Coenen, Farres and McLellan holding the top three spot. Valin and Langenfelder all over Reisulis as the youngster feeling the heat of MX2. McLellan into second and Langenfelder into fourth. Coenen wins the moto from McLellan and Farres.
