Defending 250 world supercross champion, Max Anstie of Great Britain, has gone 1-1-1 in Canada and in front of a huge crowd to win the opening round of the 2026 World supercross championship. The former MXGP racer was all class and will head to the second round of the series in England in October with a nice points lead.

Max Anstie: It was tough man, the whoops were gnarly and those electric bikes, they were gone and its hard to make up the ground. Everyone in the team has been so good and how this has come around to the team, everyone in the team. They guys have welcomed me in and its been a lot and I am looking forward to the next round of the championship. Great way to kick it off.

World supercross is alive and well and the next round in Birmingham in the UK will be a special race for Anstie, who hardly ever gets to race at home. To do it as the red plate man, and the defending world champion should see a big crowd attend round two.

Simonson in the lead of the final 250 race, but Hsu quickly into the lead, but Anstie flying and into second place and it’s a Stark Anstie sandwich, with Hsu leading from Anstie and Hicks. Simonson dropped to fourth, then came Mcadoo, Thompson, Fauser, Connolly, Peter and Koch.

Anstie into the lead as Mcadoo into fourth place and the Starks second and third. Mcadoo into third and Simonson also passed Hicks, but Anstie running away with it now. Mcadoo into second place, but miles behind Anstie. Simonson all over Hsu for third place.

Hsu out of the race with a machine problem, and the top ten on lap seven was Anstie, Mcadoo, Hicks, Thompson, Simonson, Fauser, Peters, Connolly, Koch and Fonvielle in 10th. Anstie just too good and victory in the opener in Canada.
