Triumph Factory Racing’s Jonny Walker returns to the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo this weekend as he takes on the Iron Giant aboard the TF 250-E. A three-time winner of the iconic Austrian event, Walker arrives in Eisenerz with a wealth of experience and confidence following another successful indoor season with Triumph.

After finishing as runner-up in the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship and securing multiple race wins aboard the TF 450-E, Walker now turns his attention back to hard enduro and one of the sport’s most demanding tests. Having already demonstrated the capability of Triumph’s enduro platform with a sixth-place finish at Erzbergrodeo in 2025, Jonny and the team return looking to build on that encouraging debut performance.

Regarded as the world’s toughest hard enduro race, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo attracts the sport’s best riders to the vast iron ore quarry in Eisenerz, Austria. The event begins with the Iron Road Prologue, where riders battle for qualification and starting position ahead of Sunday’s famous Hare Scramble. Covering approximately 35 kilometres of brutal terrain, the main race pushes competitors through steep climbs, rocky ascents, forests and technical obstacles, with typically only around five percent of riders reaching the finish line within the four-hour time limit.

Walker is no stranger to success at Erzberg. With three victories to his name, the Brit knows exactly what it takes to conquer the Iron Giant and remains one of the most experienced riders in the field. In preparation for this year’s event, Jonny has spent time testing both the TF 250-E and TF 450-E before ultimately selecting the TF 250-E for competition. Following the bike’s impressive showing at last year’s race, the decision reflects both Walker’s confidence in the machine and its suitability for the unique demands of hard enduro.

For Triumph Factory Racing, Erzbergrodeo represents another opportunity to showcase the performance and durability of the TF 250-E in one motorsport’s toughest tests. With Walker’s proven pedigree at the event and a year of further development behind the bike, the team heads to Austria ready to take on the challenge.

The 2026 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo takes place from June 4-7 in Eisenerz, Austria, with the Iron Road Prologue deciding the starting order before the legendary Hare Scramble on Sunday.

Jonny Walker: “I’m really looking forward to Erzberg 2026. It’s the biggest hard enduro race of the year and one that I always enjoy coming back to. We’ve been doing a lot of training since SuperEnduro finished, including plenty of time at places like Cowm Quarry, which is probably the closest thing we have to Erzberg terrain in the UK. It’s a great place to prepare with the rocks, climbs, and technical sections. Last year was a really positive race for us. We showed what the TF 250-E was capable of by running at the front for much of the event and finishing strongly, so that gives us a lot of confidence heading into this year. I’m enjoying my riding more than ever and feel like I’m in a good place physically and mentally. Erzberg is always a huge challenge, but if everything comes together on the day, I believe we have what it takes to be fighting for a podium result.”

Paul Edmondson – Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team Manager: “As we all know, Erzberg is one of the biggest and toughest events in hard enduro, and it brings a unique set of challenges for every rider and team. We’re excited to be returning this year and aiming to build on what was already a strong performance on our debut in 2025. We’re in a much better position now with a year of experience behind us, both as a team and with Jonny’s knowledge of the event, so it will be interesting to see what we can achieve. Everyone has worked hard in preparation, and we’ve also brought in some experienced Erzberg riders to support the team during the race. We’re looking forward to taking on the Iron Giant once again and seeing what’s possible.”

Ian Kimber – Head of Global Racing Programmes, Triumph Motorcycles

“We’re really excited for Jonny to return to Erzberg and show everyone what he and the TF 250-E are capable of again at one of the toughest events in enduro. Last year we took a stock bike, added some race components and lined up. For Jonny to finish sixth was an incredible result and a testament to both rider and machine. It goes without saying that in such a long and hard race there are so many variables that can and do happen, so just finishing is a huge achievement. This year the team have been able to spend more time testing and preparing to put the bike and Jonny in an even more competitive position. Jonny is looking really good on the bike, and is determined to be challenging for a podium position at this iconic event - we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do this weekend.”
