The Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship presented by Monster Energy has announced a new partnership with Stark Future, coinciding with a landmark development for AUSX Supercross that will see approved electric motorcycles permitted to compete in the championship.

The partnership will see Stark join AUSX Supercross for the 2026 season, bringing one of the world’s leading electric motorcycle manufacturers into Australia’s premier Supercross championship.

The announcement comes as Motorcycling Australia (MA) has approved eligible electric motorcycles to compete in Australian Supercross competition, opening the door for electric and combustion motorcycles to race alongside each other within the appropriate competition classes.

Unlike an electric-specific category, AUSX has not restricted electric motorcycles to a standalone class, meaning eligible machines can compete directly within the relevant existing AUSX classes, subject to Motorcycling Australia approval and technical regulations.

Mick Sinclair, Head of Partnerships & Motorsport at AUSX Events, said welcoming Stark to AUSX was an exciting addition to the championship.

“We’re stoked to welcome Stark Future to AUSX and have a brand that is pushing motorcycle technology forward become part of the championship,” Sinclair said.

“Stark has made its intentions in global racing very clear, and we’re excited to see them bring that same approach to AUSX Supercross.”

The approval of electric motorcycles represents a significant milestone for the sport in Australia and provides manufacturers with another platform to develop and showcase emerging motorcycle technology through competition.

“This is a significant step forward for Supercross in Australia,” Sinclair said.

“Electric motorcycles can now line up and compete against combustion motorcycles in AUSX, provided they meet MA’s eligibility and technical requirements. Ultimately, racing will determine how the different technologies perform against each other.”

Under Motorcycling Australia regulations, electric motorcycles must be included on the Electric Motorcycle Approved Competition List and compete in the appropriate class and discipline for which the machine has been approved.

All electric motorcycles must also meet applicable Australian Standards for Electric Vehicles and pass technical inspection before being permitted to compete.

Technical regulations and eligibility requirements remain under the authority of Motorcycling Australia and may be amended to ensure fair competition between eligible machines.

For Stark, the move provides another opportunity to demonstrate its technology in competition following appearances across international disciplines including SuperEnduro, Hard Enduro and World Supercross.

Sebastien Tortelli, Stark Racing Director, said the company was coming to Australia with clear competitive ambitions.

“Racing is where we prove ourselves. We've raced the best in the world in SuperEnduro, Hard Enduro and World Supercross, and we've been consistently up there at the front,” Tortelli said.

“Australia has some of the toughest supercross racing and the most passionate fans anywhere in the world. We're not coming to take part. We're coming to compete at the front and show the Australian fans we're here to be at the front of the pack.”

The 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship presented by Monster Energy will visit Townsville, Auckland, Geelong, Perth and Newcastle, bringing together Australia’s leading Supercross racers and international talent across the five-round championship.
