Red Bull KTM factory rider, Sasha Coenen will fly to America tomorrow, with a lot of confidence and no doubt an eye on an AMA 250cc overall victory.

Having gone 1-1 this weekend in Latvia and making his AMA Nationals debut next weekend at the Thunder Valley circuit, he must be confident of doing something special next weekend.

With defending champion Simon Langenfelder DNFing the second race with injuries (after a crash) and the championship lead for Coenen is now 37 points, the same as his brother after the first MXGP moto, these dynamic Belgian brothers sure have the world at their feet and Thunder Valley in USA in their eyeline.

Hollywood couldn’t write a better storyline and no doubt, we will all be watching and hoping they can battle the best in USA in what is round three of the 2026 AMA Nationals.

Sasha Coenen: Second moto was a different one. I had a big lead and I was just riding. Super fun to win all three motos (this weekend) and lets keep it going. It was a good one, good starts today and good motos.

MX2 Moto Two

Coenen of course with the lead in the second MX2 moto, with Karlis Reisulis second, then Lata, Valin, Karssemakers, Zanchi, McLellan, Everts, Janis Reisulis and Forsgren 10th. Langenfelder 11th and in trouble and then dropped to 12th as Farres passed him.

Lap two the lead by Coenen was 2.5 seconds, with Lata in third some 5.6 seconds back. Farres into ninth place and Langenfelder still struggling in 11th spot. Farres then passed Everts for seventh spot.

Lap three and Coenen held a 4.7 second lead over Karlis Reisulis, with Lata third, then Valin, Zanchi, McLellan, Farres, Everts, Janis Reisulis, and Langenfelder now 10th. Lap five and the lead by Coenen was 5.3 with Reisulis still second, from Lata and Valin.

Three laps later the lead was 9.2 seconds as Coenen just owns his opposition. Langenfelder crashed and having a horrible, horrible weekend. Langenfelder holding his back and while not a big injury, he must be feeling like the ground is swallowing him up. Langenfelder out of the race.

Lap 12 and five minutes remaining, Coenen has a 9.4 second lead, but like his brother, not really pushing hard and just controlling the race. These Belgian kids are really showing ridiculous speed and control.

Top ten on lap 12 was Coenen, Karlis Reisulis, Lata, McLellan, Farres, Valin, Zanchi, Everts, Karssemakers, and Grau 10th. Coenen wins it from Camden McLellan and Karlis Reisulis.
