Roan Van De Moosdrijk Interview
In his second full ADAC MX Masters season, Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team) won the championship for the second time in a row. He crowned this success last weekend at the Motocross of Nations with a podium finish at the World Team Championship as part of the Dutch team. In an interview, the 25-year-old reveals what dreams and goals he still has and whether he will fight for the ADAC MX Masters title again in 2027.

Congratulations on your second ADAC MX Masters title in a row! How did the season go – and was defending your title more difficult than winning your first title?
Roan van de Moosdijk: "The first title fight with Max Nagl went until the last race of the season. With the second title now, it was a close duel until the middle of the season, until Max was injured. From then on I had a pretty big lead, which made it a bit easier towards the end. Nevertheless, I would say that defending the title was perhaps more difficult because Max was riding really strong until his injury. I'm really happy to have won the championship for the second time in a row."

In the first half of the season, the duo van de Moosdijk/Nagl had clearly pulled away from the rest of the field. Did the winter preparation go differently in order to be even better prepared for 2026?
"To be honest, I prepared in the winter in the same way as the year before, with my coach Marc de Reuver. We were in Sardinia, among other places, and I haven't changed much in terms of physical training either. I just gained more experience and spent another year on the 450. Of course, the extra self-confidence from winning the title also helped me. But I didn't do anything else greatly."
In other words, further development as a driver – and another year together with the Kosak Racing Team.
"Yes, I know the people in the team even better now, like team manager Kevin Gödderz and team owner Herbert Kosak. They're all calm and relaxed, and that's how I am as a person – I think that's a good match. Knowing in advance what I would be working with this year also helped me. The overall package is just right, and we showed that, because we won two titles in a row with Kosak."

What are the plans and ideas for the coming year?
"Nothing has been decided yet, but I'm in talks with Kevin about next year, and it looks promising. This year, together with the Cossack team, I also raced in America for the first time, and maybe next year we will do even more in this direction. I haven't signed yet and I'm open to offers from MXGP, for example, so I can't say anything specific yet. But I'm tempted by the thought of aiming for a hat-trick of titles in the ADAC MX Masters, which only Max Nagl has managed so far. I think the ADAC MX Masters is one of the best championships you can drive in."
How can the series be classified in terms of driving level and organisation?
"I would say right below MXGP. In Holland, where I live, we only have three or four rounds in the domestic championship. The ADAC MX Masters is a bigger and longer championship. And you can see that in the names that have all raced for the ADAC and still do – there have always been good guys at the start here."
Are there still dreams in your career that need to be realized?
"Going to the USA was already at the top of my wish list. And as I said, maybe I want to do it more often next year and ride on even better tracks. But I've already achieved a lot in my career. But when an MXGP team comes up to me, a real factory team, I'm always up for it."
Which event was the highlight of the season this year?
"I'd say bitche. I always like to go there. The track has a hardpack layout, but with a sandy bottom. This is extraordinary and fun. And I had a nice duel with Max there. It was pretty close between us, but in the last run I was able to keep him behind me."
