Noah Ludwig Interview
Last season, Noah Ludwig continued his climb towards the top of the ADAC MX Masters standings. In Mölln, he secured his first event victory in the series' premier class. His winter preparation for the 2026 season differed somewhat from previous years, and he competed in the ADAC SX Cup Supercross races in Stuttgart and Dortmund, achieving positive results on his 250cc KTM. He's now back on his 450cc motocross bike, diligently putting in training laps. He revealed how his preparations have been going in a pre-season interview.
Q: We're in Grevenbroich, where the new ADAC MX Masters season will kick off at Easter. A coincidence, or is he already gaining an advantage for the race?
Noah Ludwig: “Yes, we’re here in the so-called ‘hole’ at the MSC Grevenbroich track, but it’s actually a classic winter meeting place. It’s currently the only track in Germany that’s actually usable, since the winter track is made of very deep sand and it’s not quite as cold in the west. It doesn’t give me any advantage for the season opener, though, because the race will be held on the summer track, while we’re training on the winter track.”
The strong performances at the Supercross were surprising and impressive.
“I told my team manager, André Sarholz, that I was interested, and he immediately offered his support. I specifically trained for it in Italy. Naturally, my off-season was a bit different as a result, and I didn’t ride motocross as much as in previous years. But I don’t think that puts me at a disadvantage. I’ve always ridden motorcycles, so it helps with timing, and the high intensity is also good. And it was an absolutely fantastic experience in the indoor arenas. I told my team manager, André Sarholz, that I was keen to do it, and he immediately offered his support. I prepared specifically for it in Italy.”
What are your goals for the 2026 ADAC MX Masters season?
"I definitely want to be on the championship podium at the end of the year and be at the front of the pack in every race, fighting for wins. This is my fourth season in the top class, and I'm ready for it."
Last year started strong, including a day's victory in Mölln. The results weren't quite as good in the second half of the season. What lessons were learned from that season, and what adjustments have you made for this year?
“The year started really well, with a race win in Fürstlich Drehna and then the overall victory in Mölln. After that, I wasn't feeling quite as good and made a few changes. I haven't ridden motocross as much this winter, which might actually be good for me so things go better in the second half of the season. You learn little things every year, and I think it will go even better this year.”
Have there been any major changes on the team side?
“I'm still riding for the KTM Sarholz Racing Team, and we haven't actually changed anything about the setup: same engine, same chassis, everything the same. I'm extremely happy and feel comfortable with it.”
Tom Koch is a new and strong teammate. How are things going between you two?
“We’ve known each other for a long time and quite well. But we haven’t actually seen each other this winter, apart from a chance meeting in Mattstedt, where I was training Supercross and he was riding Motocross. I think we’ll both be fighting for wins and spurring each other on.”
