McLellan Wins Spanish GP
21 year Camden McLellan of the Triumph factory team has taken Souths Africa’s first GP win in nearly two decades (the last was Tyla Rattray in 2008). The impressive youngster showed signs of brilliance and while his 2-1 performance wasn’t perfect, it was damn near close.
Around a very tough sand circuit in Almonte, Spain, the finished ahead of defending world champion, Simon Langenfelder and third was pocket rocket, Sasha Coenen.

MX2 Moto Two
Coenen with the lead in the second MX2 moto, from Lata, Langenfelder, McLellan, Everts, Valin, Janis Reisulis, Karssemakers, Karlis Reisulis, and Valk 10th. Farres in 20th place after a poor start. McLellan into third place, but Coenen getting away from everyone. Farres in with bike issues and last.
Two laps in and the lead by Coenen over Lata was two seconds, with McLellan four seconds back in third place, then Langenfelder, Everts, Valin, Reisulis, Everts, Valin, Reisulis, Karssemakers, and Valk.
Coenen starting to get some pressure from Lata in second, 1.4 back and McLellan in third is 3.2 back. Everts and Valin fighting for fifth and sixth, but they are 10 seconds off fourth places Langenfelder.
Lap seven and its Coenen with a 4.1 second lead over Lata, with McLellan 14 seconds back, with Langenfelder on his back wheel. Everts was fifth, then Valin, Reisulis, Karssemakers, Reisulis, Karssemakers and Valk.
Lata and McLellan started catching the leader, Coenen, and it was looking like a three way battle for the lead as the top three get into heavy lapped riders. McLellan into the lead and the GP is all his. A nice 2-1 performance for the South African rider.
