Defending MX2 champion, Simon Langenfelder has won the Saturday qualification race for MX2. The German, who has struggled for some time now showed the speed that won him last years world title. Second and third were the two Triumph boys, Guillem Farres and Camden McLellan.

Simon Langenfelder: It was cool. I like these big tracks and I like the overseas races, as it brings everyone together. We are taking steps and that start to show a bit. I am really happy.

Langenfelder led the MX2 qualification race, followed by Janis Reisulis, Mikula, Farres, McLellan, Karlis Reisulis, Everts, Zanchi, Walvoort, Coenen and Grau. After a lap the lead by Langenfelder was a second over Janis Reisulis, with Farres into third and 2.5 back, while South African rider, Camden McLellan was fourth, then came Mikula, Karlis Reisulis, Everts, Coenen, Walvoort and Grau 10th.

Langenfelder extended his lead over Reisulis, but not by much, with Farres three seconds back and McLellan 6.4 off the lead. Farres was all over Reisulis and moved into second place. Mikula dropping down the order, with both Everts and Coenen moving past the Czech rider.

Lap six and the lead by Langenfelder was 2.7 seconds, with Farres four seconds ahead of Reisulis, and McLellan was all over the back wheel of the Latvian. The remaining top ten was Karlis Reisulis, Everts, Coenen, Mikula, Grau and Walvoort. McLellan into third place and Lata into the top ten as Mikula back in 18th place. Langenfelder wins it from Farres and McLellan.
