Langenfelder Wins Moto One
Red Bull KTM factory rider, Simon Langenfelder has grabbed the opening MX2 moto for today, after a good start in second place and passed early leader, Janis Reisulis on lap five and held that lead for the remainder of the moto. Second was Sasha Coenen, who had a terrible start, but came through the pack quickly and third was Farres on the Triumph machine.
Simon Langenfelder: First real race, first win. I didn't think I could get second out of the start, but I was able to pass him and be quick enough.
MX2 Moto One
Janis Reisulis in the lead of the opening MX2 race, ahead of Langenfelder, Karlis Reisulis, Zanocz, Walvoort, Farres, McLellan, Lata, Mancini, and Coenen 10th after getting roughed up in the first corner. Everts a long way back in 20th place. Coenen quickly up to sixth place and Valin into the top 10 in 10th.
Top ten on lap two was Reisulis, Langenfelder, Reisulis, Farres, Coenen, Walvoort, Lata, Zanocz, Valin, and McLellan. Everts up to 15th place. The lead by Reisulis was 2.3 over Langenfelder, with Coenen up to third place and heading towards the top two guys. Everts, who was feeling not well this morning, is now 13th.
Langenfelder now all over the back wheel of the leader and a gap of 3.2 seconds back to third placed Coenen. As Reisulis and Langenfelder battle, Coenen got closer and closer and a three way battle was assured. McLellan a crashed and back in the pack now.
On lap six the gap between the top three was just two seconds and anticipation was building. Langenfelder into the lead and riding really well. Coenen now all over Reisulis, but the Belgian nearly had a huge crash, but was able to control the machine to stay on the bike.
Coenen as spectacular as ever as he moved into second place but was 3.2 behind Langenfelder now. Top ten on lap seven was Langenfelder, Coenen, Reisulis, Farres, Reisulis, Walvoort, Lata, Valin, McLellan and Everts.
Lap 10 and Langenfelder a four second lead over Coenen, with Reisulis now nine seconds off the lead, followed by Farres, Reisulis, Lata, Valin, McLellan, Walvoort and Everts. Valin coming through the pack well as he moved into sixth place, after starting outside the top ten.
A nice battle forming between Reisulis, Valin, Lata and McLellan as they battle for places between fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth. Coenen cutting the lead down from Langenfelder and it was just 3.8 on lap 12. Valin into fifth place and really showing good speed.
Langenfelder regrouped and got the lead to nearly five seconds, with some changes as the top ten was Langenfelder, Coenen, Reisulis, Farres, Valin, McLellan, Lata, Reisulis, Everts and Walvoort. Langenfelder wins it from Coenen and Farres.
