Defending MX2 world champion, Simon Langenfelder has won the opening moto in Turkey with a very solid performance. The German took the lead early after red plate man Guillem Farres held the lead but after Sasha Coenen crashed out of the moto, it seemed like the Spaniard might have taken the easier route for points, rather than a moto victory.

Simon Langenfelder: I had some nice lines and enjoyed myself, but its hard with the high intensity, but I am looking forward to the second race.

MX2 Moto One

Coenen stuck on the gate after trying to get a jump at the start and dead last, with Farres in the lead and Coenen last, but fortunately, only 15 on the start gate, so he will be top ten quickly. Langenfelder second, then Everts, Janis Reisulis, McLellan, Mikula, Karssemakers, Grau, Smulders, Coenen and Karlis Reisulis.

Coenen a big crash and looks like he is out of the moto. Championship for the young Belgian is over. Lap two it was Farres with a 2.3 second lead over Langenfelder, with Everts next, then McLellan, Mikula, Grau, Karlis Reisulis, Karssemakers, Smulders, and Janis Reisulis.

Lap six and it was Farres with less than a second over Langenfelder, then Everts 4.3 back in third, with McLellan five seconds off his team-mate, then came Mikula, Grau, Karssemakers, Janis Reisulis, Karlis Reisulis, and Zanocz 10th.

Langenfelder into the lead, with Farres now 3.2 second back in third and maybe taking it easy with Coenen out of the moto, then came Everts, McLellan, Mikula, Grau, Janis Reisulis, Karssemakers, Karlis Reisulis, and Zanocz 10th.

McLellan on a charge as he closed up on Everts for third place and clearly trying to get to Farres to cut the points lead back. The lead by Langenfelder was 5.4 seconds, with Everts 10 seconds back and McLellan all over the Belgian rider.

McLellan really pushing hard to get past Everts, with just a few laps remaining and Langenfelder a nice lead as the German rider takes the moto win. Everts crashed and handed McLellan third place and not losing too many points to Farres, who finished second.
