We are in the week of the Dutch MX Season Opener in Lierop. This coming Sunday (March 1), the starting gate will drop for the first time on Dutch soil and the season will officially get underway. The line-up for the Dutch MX Season Opener in Lierop is stronger than ever, promising a spectacular day of racing.

The Kawasaki Racing Team will attend the event with its full squad. Reigning world champion Romain Febvre had already announced his participation in Lierop and will also bring his fellow countryman Mathis Valin to compete in the MX2 class. Valin is currently in excellent form and won the international race in Sommieres last Sunday.

In Lierop, he will go up against riders such as Liam Everts and Jens Walvoort, who finished third in Lierop last year. The MX2 class will feature many more top contenders, including Gyan Doensen, Scott Smulders, Dean Gregoire, Dani Heitink, Ivano van Erp, Kay Karssemakers, Aaron Katona, Douwe van Mechgelen, as well as the German Catmoto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna team and many others.

The Kawasaki Racing Team is now complete, as Pauls Jonass has also confirmed his participation. Jonass already stood on the podium earlier this year in Pernes-les-Fontaines and finished fourth last weekend in Sommieres.

With Jonass joining the line-up, the 500 class becomes even stronger. Alongside Romain Febvre, riders such as Jeffrey Herlings, Kay de Wolf, Glenn Coldenhoff, Calvin Vlaanderen, Jago Geerts, Brent van Doninck, Alberto Forato, Andrea Bonacorsi, Roan van de Moosdijk, Max Nagl, Tom Koch, Adam Sterry and Sven van der Mierden, among others, will line up at the gate.
