Jett Goes 1-1 at Hangtown
HRC factory rider, Jett Lawrence has gone 1-1 for yet another victory, with round one winner, Hunter Lawrence going 2-2 and Haiden Deegan a long way back with a 3-3.
In the championship points, Hunter still leads with 94 points, with Jett on 88pts and Deegan already nearly 20 points off the points lead, on 75 points. Jorge Prado, who suffered a DNF in the second race isn't winning this years championship, as he is already back in 8th place in 53 points.
Jett Lawrence took the holeshot in the opening 450 moto, with Haiden Deegan in second with Hunter Lawrence in third. Jett started getting away from Deegan as older brother Hunter started making ground on the young American.
After looking like he might not be able to match Deegan, Hunter Lawrence was suddenly all over Deegan’s back wheel. Four time world champion, Jorge Prado was fourth, but never in the picture for a podium finish.
Hunter Lawrence took the lead in the final moto of the day with his brother, Jett, close behind. Justin Cooper hit a crashed rider and that triggered a red flag.On the restart it was Webb nailing down the holeshot, but Jett and Hunter quickly made the pass to go into first and second.
While it looked like Hunter might be able to keep with his brother, that wasn’t the case as Jett turned it up and started clocking much better lap times. Deegan hadn’t gotten a great start, but he was working his way forward. The young American finished a distant third to the two Aussie brothers.
