  • Race Report

HRC factory rider, Jeffrey Herlings has taken his 114th GP win and his sixth Grand Prix at the Trentino circuit with a very solid performance, a victory, that has placed him right in the championship fight. The five-time world champion went 1-2 and showed the world, he is long from being over in what has been a sensational career. Tim Gajser, also a six time winner at Trentino was second overall with 4-1 and third Tom Vialle with 3-6 results.

Lucas Coenen came back to hold onto his red plate with a 12-3 and leads Herlings in the championship by four points. Championship points are now Lucas Coenen 231 points, Jeffrey Herlings 227pts, Tom Vialle 206pts, Tim Gajser 198pts and Romain Febvre 191pts.

Jeffrey Herlings: Again I had some P10 starts again and I think I made the most passes on the weekend and everyone had trouble passing riders. I had good lines and a good day, 1-2 just the starts letting me down, but only four points in the championship. Looking forward to the break and coming back to fight for this thing. I think I showed I had the speed all weekend and in quali I put down the fastest time and I came from the back. I couldn't manage to pass Tim, he is good around here. A small break from the GPs, although I will be doing some other races. Looking forward to France.

Tim Gajser: I needed these types of races. I am speechless I am under a lot of pain and I gave it my all. The fans helped me push until the end and thanks to them and the team and everyone around me. We worked a lot to get ready for this. We worked a lot to get ready for this race. I want to heal up and use this break.
