Guillem Farres is the new MX2 world champion. The Spaniard finished second to Camden McLellan in the opening MX2 moto, and that finish handed him the number one plate. The Triumph factory rider will move to MXGP in 2027, so he won’t carry the number one plate, although he probably will, just one time in the second moto.

McLellan with the lead with Farres behind him, the two nearly collide over a jump and Everts was third. Next came Janis Reisulis, Coenen, Karssemakers, Dennis, Karlis Reisulis, Grau, Paice in 10th.

Lap three and the lead by McLellan was 1.5 seconds, with Everts 2.5 back, then Janis Reisulis, Coenen, Karssemakers, Dennis, Grau, Karlis Reisulis, Paice still in 10th place. Lap seven and it was McLellan with a two second lead over Farres, with Everts 3.2 seconds back in third. This is really a great moment for Triumph as both McLellan and Farres cross the finish line together and Farres is crowned world MX2 champion.
