Triumph factory rider Guillem Farres has won the first MX2 race with a flag to flag victory, as Sasha Coenen lost the red plate, after a poor start and crashing during the moto and finishing in 10th place. Ray Archer image

Guillem Farres: Yes, it was all about the start. I think I holeshot, put my rhythm there and I need to now concentrate on the next one.

MX2 Moto One

Farres took the holeshot in the opening MX2 moto, with Everts, second, then Zanchi, Langenfelder and Janis Reisulis. Then came Grau, McLellan, Mikula, Coenen, Walvoort. Coenen then back to 12th. Coenen back to ninth place, and Langenfelder moved past Everts for second place. Coenen clearly struggling with his shoulder, and local rider, Billy Askew in 14th spot.

Current positions mean Farres leads the championship points by one point and Coenen not making progress as he Spaniard held a lead of 2.6 seconds. Lap three and the lead was four seconds, as Farres got away from Langenfelder.

Coenen up to 8th place, but 20 seconds behind. Top ten on lap five was Farres, Langenfelder, Everts, McLellan, Janis Reisulis, Mikula, Coenen, Zanchi, Lata and Karsemakers. Coenen down and back in 14th position and his championship lead is now long gone.

Lap eight the lead was 4.6 seconds, with Langenfelder 7.8 seconds ahead of Everts, then McLellan, Janis Reisulis, Mikula, Zanchi, Lata, Walvoort, and Karlis Reisulis. Coenen up to 12th place. Farres wins it from Langenfelder and Everts.
