Coenen Wins Saturday
Red Bull KTM factory rider, Sasha Coenen has won the MX2 qualification race with a start to finish victory. The young Belgian was brilliant around a circuit that was very difficult, with the slippery surface causing all sorts of problems for riders. Second was Guillem Farres and third Simon Langenfelder.
Sasha Coenen: Five from five is nice (Qualification wins). The track is sketchy and I tried to be smooth in the beginning but then in the middle of found my pace and I won, so that is good.
Championship points are now Simon Längenfelder 213 points, Sacha Coenen 191, Liam Everts 172pts, Guillem Farres 162pts, Camden Mc Lellan 162pts.
MX2 Qualification Race
Coenen led the MX2 qualification race coming out of the first corner, with Langelfelder second, then Farres, Everts, Reisulis, Lata, McLellan, Braceras, Valin, and Karssemakers. Farres moved into second place as he passed Langenfelder and Lata moved into fourth place.
Lap one the top ten was Coenen, Farres, Langenfelder, Lata, Everts, Karlis Reisulis, McLellan, Valin, Karssemakers and Grau. Lata into third as he passed Langenfelder and a nice battle between Everts, McLellan and Karlis Reisulis.
On lap four the lead by Coenen over Farres was 2.3 seconds with Lata close to the second placed man. Langenfelder 7.3 seconds back in fourth place. Lap six the lead was 3.3 seconds, and Lata was all over Farres for second place.
On lap eight the lead by Coenen was 3.1 seconds, with Farres a couple of seconds ahead of Langenfelder, who has passed Lata. McLellan slipped over and lost a bunch of places and looked injured on the ground. Coenen wins it from Farres and Langenfelder.
