Coenen - Moto One Winner
Red Bull Factory KTM rider, Sasha Coenen has added the opening MX2 moto win to his Saturday victory and in doing so edges closer and closer to defending champion and series leader, Simon Langenfelder, who finished second, with Liam Everts coming home in third after a very up and down moto.
Sasha Coenen: Track is really challenging and the bumps are different. I made some mistakes with the lappers, but I am happy.
World championship points are now Simon Längenfelder 180 points, Sacha Coenen 159pts, Liam Everts 148pts, Guillem Farres 142pts, Camden Mc Lellan 142pts.
MX2 Moto One
Coenen with the lead in the opening MX2 moto, from Langenfelder, Everts, Mikula, Grau, Janis Reisulis, Karssemakers, Valk, McLellan, Lata in 10th and Farres back in 22nd place. Coenen very quick with a 2.2 second lead over Langenfelder.
McLellan also a mistake and he is back in 17th as his team-mate, Farres on the side of the track with some type of issue. Lap one it was Coenen, Langenfelder, Everts, Mikula, Janis Reisulis, Karssemakers, Valk, Grau, Karlis Reisulis, and Lata 10th.
Lap three the lead was six seconds as Coenen looking wild in this deep sand, but so exciting to watch. Langenfelder a second and a half lead over Everts, who has Mikula on his back wheel. Farres up to 14th after his horrible start to the moto. Karlis Reisulis passed Grau, who suddenly dropped to 11th place, allowing Zanchi into the top ten.
Lap sevn and the lead was 6.8 seconds with Langenfelder two seconds ahead of Everts, who had pulled well away from Mikula, who was passed by Janis Reisulis, who was now fourth, Mikula fifth.
Everts a mistake and back in fifth place with both Reisulis and Mikula going past. Everts back past Mikula for fourth spot. Farres a great ride as he moved into 10th place. Top ten on lap eight was Coenen, Langenfelder, Reisulis, Everts, Mikula, Karssemakers, Valk, Reisulis, Zanchi and Farres.
Langenfelder making ground on Coenen for the lead with the gap just 3.3 on lap 11. Reisulis 14 seconds back in third, then Everts, Mikula, Karssemakers, Valk, Reisulis, McLellan, and Farres. The gap then dropped to just 2.9 seconds, and we might see a battle for the lead coming up.
Coenen turned it up and the gap was 6.5 on lap 12. With just five minutes remaining and two laps, the Belgian looks like taking another moto victory. Everts back into third place, but 23 seconds off the leader. Coenen wins it from Langenfelder and Everts.
