Beta RR 250 F 2028
Beta is unveiling a preview of a new enduro model at EICMA, eagerly awaited following the launch of the RX 250 F MY27 in the motocross sector. This model brings the 250cc engine off the track, featuring a new design that utilises the recently introduced platform, adapting it for a specific purpose.
The RR 250 F will hit the market in 2027, joining the range’s family of enduro bikes. It will cater to a different user segment compared to existing models and further expand the range of options available to riders, with the aim of providing every rider with the bike best suited to their needs; there will therefore be nine models to choose from next season. The model’s specifications are still being finalised, but one thing is certain: the goal is to create a bike that is easy, lightweight and simple to ride. The RR 250 F will be a bike capable of getting the rider out of the most critical situations with a level of ease never before seen in the more complex 4-stroke models in the range. The model’s key strength will therefore be its full, robust power delivery at low revs, which can be utilised in any situation whilst remaining lively and enjoyable at high revs.
The RR 250 F will be available in both the X-PRO and Race versions, with the appropriate modifications to make the most of its comfort and ease of use on the one hand, or its responsiveness and manoeuvrability on the other.
Given the significant development work that led to the launch of the RX 250 F, the project will share many of the features that have set the new model apart.
Engine: the 250cc engine will feature a DOHC configuration with a Morse-type chain positioned on the right-hand side, driven by a gear linked to the water pump shaft; the chain tensioner, like that of the RX, will be hydraulic, ensuring effective damping of noise and vibrations.
As is well known, great attention has been paid to the compactness of the engine block, with an in-depth study of the layout of all its components to optimise mass centralisation and achieve unrivalled handling. The inner cases will be extremely thin thanks to a special aluminium die-casting process that ensures minimal dimensions without compromising overall strength, whilst the outer cases will be made of magnesium alloy, as will the cylinder head cover, in order to keep weight down.
In terms of performance, the new engine ranks among the best in its class, thanks in part to the adoption of sophisticated technical solutions such as the dual injection system, with injectors positioned both on the throttle body and on the airbox sleeve.
Gearbox: The gearbox will have 6 speeds, rather than 5 as in the cross version, whilst maintaining compact dimensions and weight without compromising on durability and engagement speed.
The package will be completed by:
• left-hand starter
• dry sump lubrication with a single oil supply for both engine and transmission
• an exhaust system specifically designed for enduro use, to prioritise a more linear torque
delivery compared to the RX, whilst paying particular attention to noise reduction.
Chassis: like the RX 250 F, the new RR will feature side-mounted steering head connections on the frame, making it the only model in the Beta enduro range to utilise this solution. This design choice ensures high torsional stiffness whilst maintaining excellent vertical flexibility. The result is a new balance between precision when cornering and the ability to absorb bumps, delivering excellent performance in terms of traction, handling and stability.
As with the current range, the suspension system will feature a combination of a monoshock and SHC front fork from ZF for the X-PRO version and from Kayaba for the Race version.
