After yet another colossal season, the curtains come down on the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) at Queensland Moto Park (QMP) on August 1-2 with plenty of silverware still up for grabs.

Following the adulation of Jed Beaton winning his maiden Kawasaki MX1 title at Green Park in Conondale last Sunday, attention now turns to crowning new champions in the Pirelli MX2, Maxxis MX3, Ezilift MXW and KTM Group MX65 Futures classes, while the veterans will be also coming out to play in the 30-39 and over 40 age brackets in their annual ProMX cameo.

On-track activity will spread across the whole weekend, starting from 7:55am on Saturday and 8:30am (both AEST) on Sunday, with tickets available online or at the gate.

Beaton will be on cloud nine at QMP, unfettered by championship considerations and devoid of any pressure. Beaton’s Monster Energy CDR Yamaha team still has unfinished business, though: doing all it can to make it a 1-2 in the Kawasaki MX1 title.

The battle for second is currently deadlocked between CDR’s Aaron Tanti and outgoing champion Kyle Wesbter (Honda Racing Australia). Both riders excelled in Conondale – Tanti the overall winner and Webster taking out moto two – so it will be fascinating to see who can break the stalemate at QMP.

Nathan Crawford (Honda Racing Australia) was the other moto winner in Conondale, and he too keeps raising the bar and could have a huge say in the final standings. He’s currently fourth ahead of veteran Todd Waters (Raceline Husqvarna TDUB) and Zachary Watson (KTM Factory Racing).

The first of the ‘live’ ProMX rubbers at QMP, with the Pirelli MX2 shootout between Honda Racing Australia duo Alex Larwood and Kayd Kingsford. Larwood holds a decisive advantage – up by 26pts – but in the thrust and parry of motocross momentum swings are common and there’s always a twist or two in the playbook.

Larwood is, of course, galvanised for one more round of smooth sailing in a season where his strike rate at the sharp end has been extraordinary: 10 wins from 11 podiums.

The fascinating finale continues in the battle for third, which is another intra-team stoush between Byron Dennis and David Walsh. The pair is equal on points, so this one could come down to the finest of margins.

Ryder Kingsford (Honda Racing Australia) and Noah Ferguson (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha) are on track to finish fifth and sixth, while Reid Taylor (Husqvarna) will be keen to continue his podium-finishing form from Conondale.

New Zealander Hayden Draper (Monster Energy WBR Yamaha) has been the Maxxis MX3 reference point since round one, and he deservedly takes a 20pt lead into the final round over Heath Fisher (Honda Racing Australia).

After feeling poorly in Conondale, Draper is now back to full health as looks to put an emphatic full stop on 2026 – while Fisher will be hoping to come from the clouds and cause an upset.

Further down, there’s just 25pts separating Riley Burgess (Boys Moto Racing KTM), Seth Morrow (Honda), Jackson Fuller (KTM Factory Racing) and Hayden Downie (Elite Riders Yamaha) in the battle for third.

Lachlan Turner is on the cusp of completing a perfect Ezilift MXW season, with the American the clear standout on her Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha. QMP will be another new track for Turner to get her head around, but she’s already proven she’s a fast learner.

Taylah McCutcheon (JPM 360 Kawasaki) and Charli Cannon (Honda Racing Australia) are still outside title chances, while Emma Milesevic (Yamaha), Darci Whalley (Honda) and Madi Simpson (Yamaha) are all bunched together in a tight battle for fourth.

After performing with distinction at the recent FIM Junior Motocross World Championship in the Czech Republic, Ryder Madafiglio (Husqvarna) and Hudson Francis (Yamaha) have returned home to continue their KTM Group MX65 Futures fight. Madafiglio leads Francis by 9pts, while Ollie Cale (KTM) and Joe Thurlby (KTM) still have title ambitions.
